It is believed that the cemetery was established in the end of the 18th century. In 1764 twenty one Jew is found in Pikeliai. The oldest is dated in 1845 and the newest in 1939. Majority of decedents were burried between the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Territory is forested and surrounded by the fragments of the former stony fence. The surface of the cemetery is wavy. The memorial stone was built.
In 2022 the cemetery was documented together with the community of Pikeliai and volunteers from Mažeikiai, Akmenė.

Kapinės miestelyje greičiausiai įkurtos XVIII a. pab.-XIX a. pr. (1764 m. Pikelių apylinkėse buvo 6 kiemai, 21 žydas. Seniausias jų – 1845 m. naujausias - 1939 m. Vyrauja XIX a. II p.-XX a. I p. macevos. Kapinių teritorija apaugusi medžiais; aplink kapines matomi apgriuvę akmeninės tvoros fragmentai; stovi senas memorialinis paminklas. Kapinės yra 0,1 km į pietryčius nuo miestelio. Plotas 0,78 ha, perimetras 360 m.
2022 m. kapinės dokumentuotos kartu su Pikelių bendruomene bei savanoriais iš Mažeikių ir Akmenės.
